how often will we meet?
I typically see clients once per week and sessions are 50 minutes long.
What are your fees?
My 50-min session fee: $180 individual, $200 for couples.
I use HIPAA compliant Ivy Pay for out-of-pocket transactions.
Can you treat my problem?
That depends. I always consult with new clients to determine fit. Not every therapist can work with every client. That’s ok! I will try my best to provide you with a referral if we cannot work together. Additionally, I do not work with the following issues:
Thought Disorders
Personality Disorders
Eating Disorders
Substance Use Disorders
Domestic Violence & Intimate Partner Violence
Court Mandated Therapy
How do i schedule a session with you?
To set up an initial appointment, fill out the contact form on the website or click here to be redirected. You can also email me directly at info@ericasorum.com
Do you accept insurance?
I accept the following insurance plans:
Optum, United HealthCare, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts and Carelon Behavioral Health Inc.
If I do not accept your insurance, many health insurance companies partially reimburse out-of-network psychotherapy if your plan is a PPO. I would be happy to provide you with a receipt of our sessions for you to submit to your insurance company. Please let me know at the beginning of treatment if you require a receipt. It is your responsibility to verify your eligibility with your insurance company and you are expected to pay your full fee at the time of your visit.
Do you work with kids?
I work with teens ages 16+. Please note that their sessions will remain confidential. I'll only communicate with parents regarding scheduling or if a teen is a risk to self or others. Parents must be very clear of this confidentiality.
Additionally, I do not work with teens who express suicidal ideation or any client with an open DCFS case.
How long will therapy take?
This answer is unique to each client. Some clients come to therapy with a very specific issue that they want to tackle quickly. Other clients require more time in therapy. Growth, healing, and behavioral change take time.
My ultimate goal is to “graduate” you from therapy. I want to teach you skills that you can utilize on your own between sessions, so that you feel empowered and in control of your own life.
